Volunteering Opportunities

Residents thoroughly enjoy meeting and interacting with a range of people living in their local community. Our team of volunteers complement and enhance the professional services provided by our team members.

We fully recognise the energy and enthusiasm of our volunteers and value the contribution they make throughout our family of homes. Many of our volunteers find their vocation whilst with us and go on to work in the care sector in a full-time or part-time capacity; a real testament to the positive experience they have had as a volunteer at Hallmark Care Homes.

Our 120+ volunteers are equipped with a broad range of skills, knowledge and experience. They often have a generous quantity of time to offer and come from within the community which helps them connect with the residents, families and team members. We personally engage with each person volunteering their time to identify where they could best contribute and make a difference. Every volunteer receives training and support to ensure they have a great experience and, where appropriate, increase their employability.

“Volunteering at Shire Hall with the lifestyle team is very rewarding I truly enjoy spending time reminiscing with our residents and supporting them with their activities, especially occasions like absent friend. From day one I felt welcomed and part of a friendly team. I have always wanted to volunteer so after retirement I knew now I had the time to make a difference and believe I do so thank you Shire Hall, for giving me the opportunity”
